Im not sure what country you are from, but most countries have a 'working holiday' type visa agreement with the United Kingdom (where Britian is) and so once you have saved up enough for your airfare, and the amount of savings required for a visa (in Australia you have to show that you have at least $4000 saved for your arrival in the UK to get yourself set up) and it allows you to work for 12months, over a two year period, which is perfect for travelling around, and meeting all kinds of new people.
