A. I'm also making money through I use the pay per click programs and post on forums. I also buy a lot of domain names myself for other businesses. If you could partner up with a good web developer or freelancer. You could keep getting more customers.

How can I get my Domain name back?
Q. I bought some cheap domain names from a reseller and now, I think I've been scammed because they don't seem to function anymore. All my sites are down. This is very important to me. Can someone please help me with some advice? thanks.

A. Did the domain names come with web hosting? If you just bought domain names without hosting, then you wont see any pages, but you will 'own' the domain name - you can buy web hosting to make them work. If you bought web hosting with your domain names, then you need to speak to them. It maybe your webhost may have a short term temporary problem keeping your websites live.

Which Domain Registration Reseller's API to recommend?
Q. I plan to resell Domain Name Registration at my website, can anyone share your experience on which supllier should I sign-up with? I also have developed my own E-commerce website, therefore I would prefer a supplier that has a flexible control panel that allow me to resell my own product as well as their Payment Gateway product. Thanks.

A. Directi's ResellerClub API is relatively simple to put into use. It is flexible enough to let you bundle products & services. You can sell your own product and at the same time include some of ResellerClub s products. ResellerClub API comes with a specification, client side kits, sample forms, sample code and complete documentation. PHP, Perl, ASP.NET and Java client side kits available.

pupose of multiple domain name servers for a single domain ?
Q. few domain registrars / resellers offer multiple name servers [up to 8 nos] with some additional fee is it necessary to have as such or primary & secondary name server is enough what is the benefit if we have several name servers for a domain name ? explain in detail please?
Asked by fourwings7 - Thu Oct 4 02:06:06 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. primary because, well, someone has to tell you where yahoo.com is, and a secondary in case the first one is pushing up the daisies (or has hiccups). In my experience, more than two does not make sense. If DNS information must come from three non-overlapping sources, something is wrong. The idea behind DNS is that things are hierarchically organized (.com, .net...) and that each level below gets more detailed. When you query your primary DNS, it may have the answer or it may be able to refer you to a DNS that has the answer. Not sure what your registrar is telling you. DNS can get rather technical. O'Reilly has a good book on this topic if you must know everything.

What is the best method for selling a domain name?
Q. The domain names I have aren't that popular so I don't expect high 3-figures. Is selling through a reseller or auction site the best, or can selling it on my own work given the limited value of the domains? Thanks.
Asked by George3 - Tue May 23 15:19:53 2006 - - 3 Answers - 1 Comments

A. Given that your domain names are not high value I think you should not spend on auction sites. Go with the personal option.

How do the domain name/hosting companies register websites?
Q. You're probably going to say "from a reseller." Well, if they get it from a reseller, then how do they register websites? There has to be some kind of code or something to assign domains. Thanks, austinyb I mean, how do the companies register?
Asked by Austin B - Sun Sep 30 21:06:22 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. In a (somewhat lengthy) nutshell: There are three entities relevant to the domain name, there's the registrant, the registrar, and the registry. The registry operates the database that stores all of the domain names and their server information. This information is pushed out to root zone servers so that the domain names can resolve. For .com and .net, the Registry is VeriSign, Inc. You can see who the registries for all the different types of domain names are at The organization that decides who gets to operate the registries is the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). The registrar is the company that registers the domain name in the registry database. Melbourne It and Network Solutions (as well as… [cont.]

Who Actually Owns Domain Name Registration.?
Q. Who Actually Owns Domain Name Registration, i mean when we buy a domain name who do we pay for the privilege. I know hosting company's offer domain name registration and take a cut if they are a reseller, but who owns the actual business.
Asked by a_cupidstunt - Mon Aug 25 14:21:04 2008 - - 1 Answers - 1 Comments

A. I'm not sure that it is a business. I think if you have a domain name server you can register domains. It is more of a standard than a business. I found this: That organisation oversees domain names but isn't a business but a non-profit organisation.

domain name stolen by hosting company?
Q. I paid for a domain name & hosting, and I prepaid annually. It was fine since 2002 Last fall new company bought out old company and didn't tell anyone. They didn't send out rewal notices. My two sites were shut down. I contacted them repeatedly and they don't reply. The few times they did write back theyd "look into it" and it's still not fixed. Turns out the original company put the ownership and all the control in THEIR name even know I paid for the name. New company locked it so I can't alter or move my name. I contacted the upper level reseller, godaddy.com, for help. They had me fill out forms, which I did; no reply back. Other then that, to get your site back, you can use to find out who the contact person is and see they'll do anything, but you probably heading up creek without a paddle in a leaky boat - Get my meaning??? A. Wow dude, you might be in over your head. Cpanel is extreamly easy but as for selling hosting it will be hard. First, you need to point your domain to your webhosting DNS server. should be something like. ns1.yourdomain.com ns2.yourdomain.com Then in cpanel you have to set up your hosting to accept the domain. It should be under parked domains or something like that. From there, I hope you know your way around ftp's and web designing.

A. Some hosting sites might charge you for repointing the DNS Name Servers to their hosting, but most likely not. I don't think Godaddy charges (www.godaddy.com), so I highly suggest just calling their tech support and speaking with a service rep. They are very friendly, and I find that Godaddy has great service and hosting plans. Good luck!

Problem Transferring Domain?
Q. I registered 2 domain names with my previous web hosting company and am now planning to migrate to another new registrar, as well as a new hosting company. The problem I'm facing now is that this hosting company is not cooperating to give me the AUTH Code for me to do the transfer. I had previously registered these 2 domains with this hosting company who is an Enom reseller. My domain is expiring in 1 month's time. I have written many emails to this hosting company without success. Any suggestion what course of action I can take now? Can I take my case to enom?

A. Do you just own the Domains or do you have site's on them? If you have site's on them log into the server, and save them on CD or DVD's, if they are giving you a problem, and since they run up in a month, go to the other domain registar and purchase the domain again, they have an option that waits for it to default back and purchase it automaticly back into your control but on the other Domain Registar... then you can submit the web sites back through FTP to the server and get them running. Depending on how long they have blown you off, I don't know if you can take action against them.. it might be some small print in the agreement you accepted when you purchased it... I dont know who you purchased it from, but for a month, I would do… [cont.]

A. I've had problems with Beta recently, and have reverted back to Classic. try this: My work-around is to use the old classic Yahoo Mail until it is fixed. Log out of all Yahoo sites. Go to this site: That should put you into a login screen. Login, and it will then put you into the Beta introductory offer. Click "No thanks, remind me later" and that should get your account to revert back to Yahoo Mail "classic". See if that gets you in.

A. If your domain name is in the expiration process you can not transfer registrars. This is an ICANN rule not the registrars. If you want the name renew it as quickly as possible before it completes the expiration process and becomes available for anyone to register. After you have renewed the name you can transfer it to any registrar you want. Yes it is possible and very common to register your domain name with one company and have it hosted by another. To establish your own domain name registration and web hosting site (not a reseller) is possible however it would be very expensive. To become a reseller is easy and requires no technical knowledge, the company you are selling for will provide all the customer service and tech support.… [cont.]
