AnagramsFrom Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. A name is a label for a noun, normally used to distinguish one from another. Names can identify a class or category of things, or a single thing, either uniquely, or within a given context. A personal name identifies a specific unique and identifiable individual person, and may or may not include a middle name. The name of a specific entity is sometimes called a proper name (although that term has a philosophical meaning also) and is a proper noun. Other nouns are sometimes, more loosely, called names; an older term for them, now obsolete, is "general names". The use of personal names is not unique to humans. Dolphins also use symbolic names, as has been shown by recent research. Individual dolphins have individual whistles, to which they will respond even when there is no other information to clarify which dolphin is being referred to. Care must be taken in translation, for there are ways that one language may prefer one type of name over another. A feudal naming habit is used sometimes in other languages: the French often refer to Aristotle as "le Stagirite" from one spelling of his place of birth, and English speakers often refer to Shakespeare as "The Bard", recognizing him as a paragon writer of the language. Finally, claims to preference or authority can be refuted: the British did not refer to Louis-Napoleon as Napoleon III during his rule. From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License How do last names work when your adopted? Q. My boyfriend has two last names, he only uses one. But legally he has two I will use Smith and Jones, though those are not his real last names. And Jeff for his first. So it would be Jeff Smith/Jones. So my question is when we get married will my name be Jenna Smith/Jones? Or can I just take the name he uses the most witch is Smith? So, the name u marry into is sorta unofficial. Answered by Skeletal Lightning - Mon Nov 3 17:56:22 2008 What trendy baby names are you sick of seeing? Q. What trendy baby names are starting to make your skin crawl? Just curious. I guess in all fairness, if you're into trendy names, what classic names make you go insane? It'd probably be fair if I included mine: Aiden Jayden Hayden and the like Briley Brianne/Bri/etc And then anything involving fate (destiny, hope, faith), cities, countries, strange spelling, seasons, etc. I have an old lady name, so I'm a bit partial to them :) And I love classic names. I am so tired of the Aden, Braden, Kaden, Jaden stuff!!! it seems so over used, and i know several people who have named their kids one of those (or a variation of) and i cant stand them! another thing is the rediculous spelling variations some ppl come up with. its so annoying, if you like a name then just spell it normally so people can actually pronounce it! LOL i mean yeah i like unique names, but i also want people to say my kids names! Answered by Jessica G - Sat Jan 31 21:20:02 2009 What are the names of the 2 dr.'s who pulled their names off a report correlating autism and vaccines?
Q. These 2 doctors had stated in the past that vaccines had no relationship in the autism epidemic. Now they want their names off the CDC report. Very interesting... What you are looking for is right here: By Kent Heckenlively, Esq. In what can only be described as a legal bombshell, the government has withdrawn two of its three expert reports claiming that thimerosal has no connection to autism. The expert reports are from Dr. Thomas Clarkson and Dr. Laszlo Magos, two world-renowned in the field of toxicology, who have been working in medicine from the late 1950s and early 1960s. A PubMed search under Clarkson lists 21 published articles concerning mercury and Magos worked for the prestigious Medical Research Council Laboratories in England, as well as co-authoring 4 articles on mercury with Dr. Clarkson.
